USIL Rules

Rules

1. Basketball nets and the flat of the side back boards are live, as well as the corners unless obviously tampered with don't call dead ball.

2. Except for directly above the goal mouth, the wire is live

3. The gap between the stands is dead

4. Don't be a pussy about touches, If you feel that you've been fouled then speak up immediately or if you feel as though you have fouled another player, then speak up immediately.
If you are in the stands please refrain from yelling FOUL! Whenever you think you see one. You're there to enjoy, watch, cheer whatever you aren't the ref, so keep a lid on it.
When a foul takes place and the team fouled has possession of the ball, and they continue to play on (playing the advantage), a stoppage of play is unnecessary. BE AWARE. Don't stop playing if the other team plays the advantage. That's footy and it's the rule of USIL.
Having said this, a team can choose to stop and take the free kick but can't do so if they do play the advantage, so in other words, stop immediately after a foul if you're going to stop.

5. No Fighting Period!!! It’ll be a long winter without USIL.

6. Only use one hand at a time on the wall when bracing yourself.

7. DO NOT play the ball from the ground this includes one knee down while kicking.

8. Sliding tackles - Sliding Tackles are NOT ALLOWED and on any type of break away or last man back situation a walk-in Penalty shot will be awarded to the player fouled. In the event of a sliding tackle committed outside these circumstances a free kick will be awarded. This applies to Goalies too.

9. Goalies can rush the ball understanding that failing to make contact with ball and contact with the player will result in a free kick bring awarded. When returning the ball into play Goalies may not kick the ball from there hands, and when throwing the ball it must touch their side of half before crossing breaking either of these rules results in a corner kick awarded to the other team.

10.Intentional hand ball in front of an open net which stops ball entering net = goal. Intentional hand ball in front of net (but with goalie or other teammate in between, so in other words the ball wasn't going to go in with any certainty) = penalty shot

Be understanding of different levels of experience with the unique rules of gym play.

There will be no Red Cards or Expulsions given unless malicious intent is displayed with any of the rules above, the call cannot come from a player on the court, so Don't ask.

Last but not least Captains you are in charge of your teams, we're all adults let's act like part.
